From the 5th to the 10th of September, the volunteers of the Italian Association of Organ Donors will be playing for the international multisport event
The gift at the center of the biggest amateur sporting event of the year for Romagna Riviera, in a virtuous exchange that puts sport at the center for everyone as a tool for physical and social well-being. There will also be volunteers from AIDO Emilia Romagna among the approximately 100 young and old people who will take care of the reception and sports management of the World Sports Games 2023, that will be held in Romagna – between Cervia, Forlì, Riccione, Ravenna, Cesena , Cesenatico and Misano Adriatico – from the 5th to the 10th of September next. AIDO, the Italian Association of Organ Donors, with its volunteer operators from Emilia Romagna will in fact support the event as “ethical partner”.
The event is promoted by CSIT – the International Confederation of Amateur and Worker Sport – and organized here in Italy by AiCS, the Italian Sports Culture Association, one of the leading sports promotion Association in the country, with the support of Emilia Romagna Region and the Municipality of Cervia, and in collaboration with ACSI and the other 6 Municipalities involved, which facilitated access to sports facilities.
Four days of sport, five of cultural and social events, over 5 thousand athletes, technicians, coaches and families who will compete in 40 sports facilities located throughout Romagna, in seven cities: a flow that needs technical and logistic support. This support will be granted by the 100 volunteers that the organizing committee has tracked down in the area thanks to the dense network of associations that the world of sports promotion offers in this region. Among these, the donor volunteers: AIDO Emilia Romagna, which has already collaborated with AiCS for sporting events aimed at including transplanted people, decided to place its supporters at the service of the World Sports Games since the sporting event – which has also included athletes with disabilities – was a point of acceptance and awareness of the gift.
