Nearly 4 thousand registered athletes, accompanying persons and officials: about 5 thousand if local volunteers, referees and technicians are added. When the Italian edition of the CSIT World Sports Games is just over a month away, the balance is great. For the first post-Covid edition, thanks in part to the presence of the Games’ partner sports delegations and the athletes who will compete in the demonstration sports,  the numbers are very positive.

The World Sports Games will be held in September 5-10 in Italy, in Emilia Romagna Region (the venues are: Cervia, Cesena, Cesenatico, Forlì, Misano Adriatico, Riccione and Ravenna), and athletes will be engaged in more than 20 official sports championships, five partner championships and four other sports exhibitions. In all, that’s 3.200 athletes from more than 50 different countries, plus accompanying persons, managers, sports coaches and volunteers. As many as 100 volunteers hired in the Romagna area, including those from Aido Emilia Romagna, the Italian organ donor association.

The event is host in Italy by AiCS, in partnership with the Emilia Romagna Region, Acsi and the Municipality of Cervia. The event enjoys the patronage of all municipalities involved and is among the plastic free events promoted by the Emilia Romagna Region. Main sponsors: Allianz and Tecnocopi; media partners: Corriere Romagna, Teleromagna and Radio Bruno.

The event includes not only sports competitions. There is also a packed cultural program that will begin with the opening ceremony (on September 6 at 4 p.m. in Piazza Garibaldi in Cervia) and end with the closing party on September 9 from the Fantini Club beach.
