33 years old, electrical engineer and a sporting curriculum vitae as a true “child of art” of athletics. Marco Bindi, a middle-distance runner by passion, will be the torchbearer of the CSIT World Sports Games 2023.

Marco, son of the nationally-ranked middle-distance runner Elisa Zuccari, and athlete of the Atletico Casentino Poppi team, is a veteran of AiCS athletics championships for more than 20 years, despite his young age: he earned his first AiCS podium when he was only 10 years old and since then he never abandoned the AiCS competitions, driven by his family’s passion and passion for running.

The opening ceremony

Torchbearer identified, everything is ready for the opening ceremony of 7th Edition of CSIT World Sports Games.

The event starts at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6th at Rotonda della Pace on Cervia’s seafront. From there, the colourful parade of all the sports delegations of the participants will begin. The multi-ethnic parade of the athletes and their guests will be strolling to Piazza Garibaldi, where will take place the celebrations for the lighting of the Tripod, the speech for the official opening of the Games by CSIT President Bruno Molea, and a show dedicated to the Italian culture supported by the municipality, and the organizing committee to involve both the participants and the community in the World Sports Games.

The Opening Ceremony will be presented in English by Gianni Marchetti and will be live streamed on all AiCS social media channels, on CSIT- WSG official website, and on ARIAtv both in English and in Italian.

 

Four days later, on September 9th, the Closing Ceremony will be set up on the beach at the Fantini Club in Cervia. The event will feature the closing speech and the handover of the flag to Greece, which will host the Games in 2025. Finally, a music party sponsored by the organizing committee for the community with DJ set by Radio Bruno will light up the evening with lots of fun and dancing on the beach.
