Hosted by the Associazione Italiana Cultura e Sport and the International Workers & Amateurs in Sports Confederation, from the 5th to the 10th of September in Cervia, on the Riviera Romagnola.
More than 5,000 amateur athletes from all over the world – competing in 15 different sports – are expected.
The 2023rd edition should have been held in Rome, Italy. The financial crisis combined with the high inflation resulted in increasing costs for accommodation. This has prompted the CSIT Executive Committee to rethink its multi-sport event which, as a matter of substance and consistency, must be as accessible as possible to its participants. Therefore, the Riviera Romagnola appeared to be the best choice, managing to contain costs and demonstrating its vocation for sports tourism. Here, on the other hand, AiCS itself has been organizing its largest multi-sport event, VerdeAzzurro, for years, which every year brings together around 6 thousand participants at the end of the summer, between Misano Adriatico and Cervia. The goal is to reach and even exceed these numbers.
Furthermore, the WSG aim to become above all an event of sporting culture and participation, as well as a real inclusive and welcoming festival of the people. Not surprisingly, the event will start with an Opening Ceremony, where all the hosted delegations will parade under their own flag.
