The 2023 CSIT World Sports Games are the first truly green edition of the event. Therefore, the organising committee Emilioc, in collaboration with AiCS Ambiente Aps, ensured a series of measures aimed at combating plastic and promoting respect for the environment among participants.
For this reason, recyclable bottles are provided in the welcome kit, which can be refilled at sports facilities or hotels, thus reducing the purchase of plastic water bottles. But that’s not all: at Casa Italia (the WSG23 Head Quarter) and at Casa Italia by night, participants will find waste collection buckets and a waste collection competition (the Rifiuthlon®) will be organised on Friday 8 September on the beach in Cervia and all participants will win a #PlasticInvasionPrevention t-shirt.
Furthermore: since environmental respect and food are closely linked and since the WSG23 is an inclusive event that wants to offer maximum service to its guests, hotels that also offer vegan menus will be pointed out. Finally, in the most crowded places, AiCS operators will also measure pollution levels by measuring particulate matter.
